Beach Day: Caleb and Mom

June 26

Caleb and I spent this hot morning at Lake Josephine in Roseville. After our week of toasty weather, the lake was a comfortable temperature, and we enjoyed walking/swimming out far. We saw fish swimming around our legs–that was fun for Caleb.This outing was more relaxing and enjoyable to me than the packed wading pool earlier this week. Caleb–no surprise–fell asleep on the way home with a chicken strip from DQ in his hand.

We’ve had some spring-feeling days and made the trek to the park. Earlier this week the playground was a lake because of the melted snow. Yesterday we could walk on the sand.

Christmas with the Taylors

Micah’s 34th Birthday on December 19

Micah had a musical day, beginning with gifts of a guitar case and cymbal and “Harmony” guitar shirt. He recorded a rock and roll song with Russell during the afternoon that you can hear on his website (micahtaylor.com). We ate dinner at Longfellow Grill that evening, then Micah headed over to The Bean Factory for some Christmas-themed music making with Nate and others. Caleb wanted to be on DaDa’s lap–you can see him behind the mandolin.

Caleb’s First Big Boy Haircut

On December 12, Mom and Caleb headed to Kid’s Hair to take care of the baby shaggy look. The key, the stylist told me, is to cut quickly and have Mom “hug” the kiddo when he needs to be perfectly still. Caleb wanted to use the comb, too, as you can see in the photos.
